In 2005 CHAC initiated the Clare Foster Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a young music student resident in the Hastings. 

The Scholarship is designed to help music students at some of the most vulnerable times of their studies, when they are most often tempted to abandon their music.  These times can be when changing from primary school to high school, or leaving high school for work or tertiary education, or completing tertiary education to work or travel. 

The Scholarship is in honour of one of CHAC's founding members, the late Clare Foster, and will be awarded each year, with one scholarship of $1000, or two scholarships of $500 each, depending on the number and quality of applications.

Refer to the Clare Foster Memorial Scholarship website for information about applying for the scholarship. This will usually be available around May of each year for a scholarship to be awarded in August.
