Clare Foster Scholarship

In 2005 Camden Haven Arts Council Inc initiated the Clare Foster Memorial Scholarship which is awarded annually to a young music student resident in the Greater Port Macquarie-Hastings local government area.

The Scholarship is designed to help music students at some of the most vulnerable times of their studies, when they are most often tempted to abandon their music.  These times can be when changing from primary school to high school, or leaving high school for work or tertiary education, or completing tertiary education to work or travel. 

The Scholarship is in honour of one of CHAC's founding members, the late Clare Foster, and is awarded each year, with one scholarship of $2000, or two scholarships of $1000 each, depending on the number and quality of applications.

Primary Schools Grant
With the sponsorship support of Essential Energy Camden Haven Arts Council has initiated a new grant for Primary Schools located in the Forster to Kempsey region. This is a grant up to $2000 for primary schools to promote and progress teaching the performing arts. The funding may be used to purchase such things as materials, equipment, teaching aids, tuition or specialist teaching or transport associated with attendance at tuition or performances judged to assist the students in their experience of the performing arts. For the purpose of this grant the performing arts includes choral or instrumental music, dancing, stage productions and plays etc.
